Welcome to the Character and Citizenship Education Website from Edmonton Public Schools
The purpose of this site is to support the ongoing Character and Citizenship work being done in our schools. To that end, we provide the Framework we used to create our CCEd initiative, profile the accomplishments of our students and teachers and provide resources to assist in keeping the initiative vital and alive.
The CCEd initiative is a deliberate effort to develop the qualities of good character and responsible citizenship in each of our students. It is our most sincere desire to have our students possess a core set of values to guide their lives- objective and moral values that transcend time and culture- values such as respect and fairness.
In our schools CCEd is intended to create and sustain an environment suitable for teaching and learning through the development of a civil and caring community.
